Block1 Pty Ltd

Block1 Pty Ltd is an established structural engineering consultancy, based in Geelong, and serving Melbourne and the Bellarine. Block1 is headed by Ashley Willis who has delivered many hundreds of projects since 2001, and; amassed a wealth of construction knowledge and experience.  Ashley is a Member of Engineers Australia, and on the National Engineering Register.  He is a chartered professional engineer CPEng, which is the highest level of registration and certification an engineer can hold in Australia.  He has a double structural/civil engineering degree as well as a science degree in geology and mathematics. Since 2001, Ashley has delivered almost a thousand projects worth in excess of $1b.  He leads jobs from inception to conclusion and has built a reputation for providing excellent advice and well-designed buildings that are strong, sturdy and a pleasure to build and live in.

We deliver every type of building - schools, commercial, residential, health, childcare plus bespoke steel stairs + retention gantries & everything else!

If a building is imagined as a sequence off building blocks, we design the first components that form the substrate and skeleton to the entire building. First is site preparation and drainage. Then the building’s substructure is built - its basement/piles and ground slab & footings, which supports the building’s superstructure, being concrete/masonry/steel/timber walls, columns, floors and roof., upon which the geometric form and skeleton of the building is complete. Next the roof and gutters go on and any special facade framing, and the windows and external facades are installed, as internal fitout proceeds.

We design the first block of components, being the building’s structural components, which is why we are called Block1.
