Peer Reviews

Block1 are happy to be contacted to peer review other companies work. We encourage clients to engage the structural independent reviewer early in the project so that we can provide ongoing advice and oversight during scheme design, detailed design and final design. This will lead to the best outcomes for the project. Ashley has been internally reviewing projects for the companies he has worked for, for the past ten years. He is happy to contribute his knowledge and advice, in a non-judgmental fashion focused purely on the projects best interests. The industry can be hectic, and the work of a structural engineer is not finished until the project is complete. There are lots of moving parts, hundreds of hours of communication, and hundreds of decisions that make up the final documentation and built-product. Block1 will help streamline this process by sitting outside of the daily ruckus and providing clean-cut insightful design advice whilst checking the holistic fundamentals of the design solution, its robustness and strength of the fundamental load-paths to ensure that the building is adequately designed for all pertinent load cases, and that the documentation reflects the design intent. Over the years, Ashley has contributed all manner of items on other people’s projects, from picking up on modelling issues, to contributing to detailing & final design, and adding notes and cross-referencing to the drawings. The builder deserves to have structural documentation that is clear and unambiguous, and sufficiently well detailed to order from and construct. Block1 can help ensure that this is provided, and undertake the formal independent review process legislated within the Victorian Building Regulations.
